Pelican Products and League of Women Voters Beach Cities and Torrance Area Host Special Election Candidates Forum

On Monday, May 2nd, Pelican Products, in partnership with the League of Women Voters Beach Cities and Torrance Area, hosted a special election candidates' forum for those running for the U.S. Representative 36th Congressional District seat, formerly held by Jane Harman.

Pelican Products President and CEO Lyndon Faulkner started the evening off with opening remarks to a crowd of more than 200, plus the 13 candidates - "We're proud to host this event and live in a country where forums like this exist to offer the free exchange of ideas, views and opinions regardless of your political persuasion."

The forum was moderated by The League of Women Voters' Fatima Malik, who quizzed the candidates on topics ranging from the Federal Budget to the environment to National Defense policies. The 36th Congressional district covers most of the coastal communities of Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Torrance, El Segundo, Venice, Wilmington, and San Pedro, in Greater Los Angeles.
